Please click the "About This Stack" button if you've not already read it.
A word of caution! If you're going to give students, especially younger students, access to this stack, be sure you have a copy!! Accidents happen. To help prevent accidents to buttons or the few scripts, I've set the userlevel to 3 which prevents access to some of the tools, but not the ones you need to copy or add to the art.
And that brings up another note. If you're using this stack with the new "HyperCard Player", you'll be unable to move you userlevel above 3 anyway. If you do much work with Hypercard, consider the upgrade Claris talks about in the notes that came with HyperCard Player.</text>

Tiny ClipArt Demo contains ten cards and nearly two hundred pieces of clipart from the complete stack of over 70 cards and 2600 pieces of clip.
Our objective with this stack was to collect all of the pieces of clipart which would fit in a 2" x 2" square or smaller and were suitable for use by students and educators in various desktop publishing and other creative projects. These graphics have not been included in other "SuperClipArt" stacks.
Click the "To Order or Join.." button on the index card to order the complete stack for $5.00 including shipping, or to order others in our "SuperClipArt Series". As the complete stack doesn't fill an 800k disk it can be ordered with picture fonts or samples of other SchoolHouse Mac graphics. Check the order form to indicate your preference.
Graphics in this stack are from a wide variety of souces including picture fonts and various icon collections. We've indicated authors and artists where we could, but that information frequently was not available. If you recognize any, please let us know.
Also, to the best of our knowledge, all art in this stack is in the public domain. If that is not the case, please let us know and we will remove the graphic in question from the collection.
If you've any questions or comments, please contact me on AOL (Charlie938) or write me
at SchoolHouse Mac.

About This Stack
*******************

Tiny ClipArt for Teachers is shareware which means that if it was given to you by a friend, we ask that you send us $5.00 to support our continuing, non-profit work. It'll get you on our mailing list (we don't mail enough to be obnoxious) and it will help us develop more and better clipart and other resources.
Tiny ClipArt for Teachers was created by SchoolHouse Mac, a "long distance", non-profit, teacher's user group (unofficial so far, but with over a hundred members in twenty states and growing). We are "long distance" because we communicate pretty much by mail or, in some cases, by modem. For more information about us, please click the "More Resources" button.
Tiny ClipArt for Teachers is a collection of some of the smallest clipart we've found. We think its useful in various formal and informal desktop publishing tasks as well as stack creation. The graphics in this stack are from a variety of sources including icon collections and picture fonts. I've given credit when the creator's name was included with the font or icon file, but that wasn't often. To the best of our knowledge, however, all material included in this stack is public domain. If that is not the case, please let us know and we'll remove the work immediately.

We're using Macs with HyperCard and various word processor and art programs to write stories and other material with elementary students and find that we spend a lot of time hunting for graphics and that what we have is not enough for all of our projects. We don't always have time to make our own and we don't have the budget to buy expensive collections, so we've compiled all the public domain graphics we could find and put some in stacks by subject and organized some in to collections of paint files in our "ClassRoom ClipArt Collection", to make the writing and illustrating process faster and easier.
We're continuing to work on these collections for classroom use, especially line art suitable for elementary use. We'd love to trade some of our art for yours. Please send us any art you or your students do. I'll trade you a disk of ours for a disk of yours. Or these disks are for sale for $4.00 to $10.00 each to SchoolHouse Mac Members. ($6.00 to $15.00 for non-members) Click the "More Resources" button to find out about the rest of our collection and how to order it.
This stack contains public domainart which may be used freely. However, we've copyrighted the "anthology" and the stack itself. It is shareware in that if you get the complete stack from a user group, friend, teacher, etc., and decide to keep and use it, you should send us $5.00. User groups and individuals may distribute it without profit as they see fit as long as information about our group is included. In fact, we encourage such distribution. Please write or email for permission to include this on a cd-rom. It may not be resold for profit at all.
If you purchase the disk and it is defective or blank, we will replace it within 30 days, but otherwise are not responsible for any problems you may have with this stack. (Despite the legalese, we don't think you'll have any and if you do let us know. If you have any suggestions for improvement, let us know that too!)
(Check the end of this section for information about our user group, some of our other publications and joining us.)
We started developing our graphics library of edited public domain art for teachers two years ago. Generally, our goal is to collect art in the simplest, most useful file formats we could, so our art is all "paint: format or occassionally files which can be opened with MacPaint or similar programs. We found, edited, and categorized nearly 30 800k disks of public domain graphics. To the best of our knowledge, all graphics are public domain. If this is not the case, please let us know and we'll promptly remove the art in question from our collection.
The disks contain a mixture of graphics from single image, full page (file) graphics to files with ten or more pieces of clipart. Disk one, for example, contains thirty-four files with twenty-two single image files and over a hundred images in all. Each file of course, represents what can be printed on a single page.
This year, we started re-editing it, adding new material and devising two new formats. The first is the ***SuperClipArt Stacks*** and the second is the ***10 X 10*** disk versions of some of these. The main difference is that SuperClipArt stacks contain only art that will fit on a standard sized HyperCard page while the ***10 X 10*** version contain material so large that it each paint file may have only one graphic per page as well as many smaller graphics. Generally, art will not be duplicated in these two formats. Both series come compressed in self extracting files. (See the note at the end for instructions.)
SuperClipArt 1 - Cartoon ClipArt : 800k stack filled with quality drawings of everything from Disney to Garfield and other well known cartoon characters. Cost is just $6.00 to members and $9.00 to non-members.
SuperClipArt 2- SchoolYear ClipArt: A huge stack with nearly a thousand images for use through the school year. Beginning with back to school clip, it includes graphics for most holidays as well as school events throughout the year. This is a huge stack with lots of art for teachers! Cost is $10.00 to members and $15.00 to non-members. This is shipped on an HD disk. (Let us know if you don't have a SuperDrive on your Mac.)
SuperClipArt 3- Tiny ClipArt for Teachers - This a stack made of clipart which can fit in a 2" by 2" box or less. It has 8 to over 100 images per card on seventy cards for over 2600 images of a variety of subjects. Cost is just $6.00 to members and $9.00 to non-members.
*********10 X 10 Art**********

Note: All 10 x 10 disks are HD disks and contain compressed files. They are an outstanding value and cost $10.00 to SchoolHouse Mac members of $15.00 to non-members.
10 X 10 14 - Animal Art: Every public domain image of an animal, fish, bird, reptile (dinosaurs too!) we could find, compress and fit on an 1400k disk. A huge collection of paint graphics.
10 X 10 17 - Animal Art 2: This disk contains the rest of the animal, bug, bird, reptile, ocean and so on art we’ve been able to find so far.
Note: These disks are 800k disks and generally files are not compressed. Many have been updated recently, adding the latest art we've been able to find. They cost $4.00 each to members and $6.00 to non-members and most material which is contained on disks above has been starred. Some of the disks contain self-extracting, compacted files with new material we’ve added recently. (See note about compacted files below.)

SchoolHouse Mac is a non-profit, K-12 teacher's Mac user group, formed in response to a need for help using the Macintosh in the classroom and in response to a need for more programs, art, ...everything!, to use with it. We've been gathering public domain and shareware programs, tools to use to develop more, and lots of art and information for over a year now.
So far, we've collected 3500 files on over 400, 800K disks which we are selling for $4.00 per disk ($6.00 to non-members). In collecting these files, we've made an effort to discard those which don't work or are not appropriate for school use. Every third issue of the Teacher's Mac, contains SchoolHouse Mac's latest catalog. (Check the next chapter for shipping and ordering information.)
We also want to encourage programs and teachers to continue developing good education programs by encouraging payment of shareware fees.
Special focuses and continuing effort include developing ClassRoom ClipArt resources, continuing the 10 X 10 series, utilizing HyperCard in the classroom, developing templates, lesson plans and electronic books!
Members of SchoolHouse Mac will receive the two catalog issues of Teacher's Mac‚Ñ¢, which will contain our most recent catalog, the diskletter and approximately 1000k of the best material and programs we have gathered in the previous months. Members will also receive mailings keeping them informed of events.
Membership Dues
Membership dues are $12.00 a year. Or membership is included in the $24 subscription fee of The Teacher's Mac‚Ñ¢ which is published six times a year. A sample issue is available for $5.00 (Both the sample and the issue would become part of your first year if you choose to subscribe.) Send inquiries, subscription requests, etc., to SchoolHouse Mac at the address listed at the end of this chapter.(These fees will be raised by $3.00 each on August 30, 1993.)
Teacher's Mac‚Ñ¢ is a user group "diskletter".....an informal, electronic publication created by the SchoolHouse Mac K-12 Teacher's User Group.
Teacher's Mac‚Ñ¢ is a "diskletter" in the sense that is a newsletter on a disk. Putting a newsletter on a disk makes it possible to send out lots of useful programs and other files along with the newsletter and keeps expenses down.
Teacher's Mac‚Ñ¢ is informal because it's primary focus is presenting information, ideas and how-tos from a variety of sources including BBSs, other user groups, and teachers. We are not as concerned with polish as we are with getting as much of the enormous amount of information available to you as possible and with generating more. We can include resources from a variety of sources because we are a non-profit user group charging you a distribution and membership fee.
We should also point out that we are not as concerned with the latest thing and the most uptodate equipment as we are with the most USEFUL material. While we have material of interest to "Techies", we are teachers first.
Teacher's Mac‚Ñ¢ is electronic in that it is not available in paper form, rather it is available on an 800 k disk (or selected BBSs) along with up to 1100k of programs, information, lesson plans, how-tos, art and so on. Suggestions and directions for the programs included on the disk are written up in "This Month's Programs" as needed.
Included programs and other material are found or developed by teachers in their own efforts to use Macs in the classroom. The content will vary from issue to issue, but one thing is definite, teachers will find useful programs and information with every issue.
We also hope that Teacher's Mac‚Ñ¢ will serve as a collection focus, inspiring teachers to share their ideas and plans for using the Mac in the classroom with other teachers. Teacher's networking with teacher's can generate lots of ideas.
Approximately 1100k of material is included on an 800K disk by compressing the files. An easy to use extractor is included on each disk along with printed instructions. (Note: Be sure to move the files to your hard drive before extracting. The 800K floppy does not contain enough extra memory for the process.)
Teacher's Mac‚Ñ¢ is published six times year for $24.00 ($27.00 after Aug 30, 1993) which includes membership in SchoolHouse Mac. Single issues may be purchased for $5.00 or inquires may be directed to

**Inspite of the number of images, TinyClipArt is the smallest of our SuperClipArt stacks at just under 500k. We're shipping it on a disk with some of the fonts some of the art came from (check ClipArt A) or with samples of our other art or with new clipart we've recently found or created (check ClipArt B). Be sure to indicate your choice.
**TinyClipArt is shipped on an 800k disk but SchoolYear Clip is ordinarily shipped on a 1400k disk. If you don't have a newer Mac with a SuperDrive, tell us, add $1.00 to the cost of SchoolYear Clip, and we'll ship it to you on two 800k disks.
**Shipping and tax (where applicable) are included in the costs of these disks as a sort of "electronic" special if you're ordering as a result of seeing the "Tiny Clip" demo.</text>
